A couple of years ago I painted the painting that the artist is painting
in this painting....whew, that was a mouthful, lol!
The painting was called Dora and Picasso on a Sunday Afternoon. I decided
to use the same painting for this artist but have her painting it in her Paris
Studio with all of her set ups for her painting surrounding her.
I just love the way the tops of the building out of the window continues into the
painting. I placed all the elements she is using close to the one's in her painting.
Look at the hat and glasses on the floor and then right above it they are in the painting.
The same with the watermelon, the lute and the music sheet.
Having all of her fun things around her, books tubes of paint on the floor
and of course her mac laptop at her fingertips is just what an artist does and loves!
Mr Bird in his cage looking over her was a fun touch.
This was great fun but being large format took a loooooog time to paint!
Loved it!

A bit about Doa Marr
Dora Maar was born in Paris, France, on November 22, 1907. When she was 19, she began pursuing the artistic life, studying painting and photography. Her work had begun garnering attention when she met Pablo Picasso, and her life would never be the same. Living in the shadow of the greatest artist of her time, Maar suffered from self-doubt and depression through a nine-year romantic affair with Picasso.
